  • Site Preparation & Land Clearing

A successful build starts with a properly prepared site. We handle site preparation with a focus on stability, drainage, access, and proper elevations so the next trades can work efficiently and your project stays on track.

We begin by reviewing the plan (or your goals), evaluating site conditions, and identifying what needs to be removed, reshaped, or stabilized. This allows us to clear strategically, ensuring the site is usable, stable, and ready for the next phase without unnecessary disturbance or added cost.

Our equipment and experienced operators allow us to handle clearing projects of varying sizes - from small residential lots to larger development areas - while maintaining control over grading and surface conditions throughout the process.

Site preparation and land clearing can include:

    • Removal of small trees, roots, and surface obstacles
    • Topsoil stripping and stockpiling for future finish work
    • Rough grading to establish building pad elevations and water flow
    • Pad building and stabilization for build-ready surfaces
    • Construction access routes for equipment and material deliveries
    • Coordination of underground work so utilities, drainage, and foundations are sequenced correctly (a major factor in preventing delays)
    • Final cleanup to leave the site clean, accessible, and build-ready
  • Earthwork & Excavation

We provide excavation services for residential and commercial projects, from targeted digs to full cut-and-fill earthmoving.

Each excavation is executed to planned specifications, with controlled site stability and preparation for long-term structural success.

Depending on the project, we may excavate for foundations, basements, additions, utilities, driveways, drainage, or structural features. We also manage soils responsibly, stockpiling usable soils when appropriate and covering back up your trench so that it looks like it was never even touched.

Earthwork and excavation work can include:

    • Foundation and footing excavation (including additions and detached structures)
    • Basement excavation and over-excavation where required
    • Cut and fill operations to establish correct elevations across the site
    • Excavation for retaining wall prep and structural backfill zones
  • Grading & Leveling

Grading is where excavation becomes “precision.” Proper grading protects foundations, prevents ponding, reduces erosion, and creates clean lines for driveways, yards, and building pads.

We grade with drainage in mind first, because a beautiful surface that holds water becomes a problem later. We shape slopes intentionally, set transitions cleanly, and fine grade so the final surface is ready for gravel, concrete prep, sod, seed, or landscaping.

    Grading services can include:

    • Rough grading for site layout and building pad shaping
    • Fine grading for smooth, level finish surfaces
    • Drainage grading to move water away from structures
    • Slope shaping and correction to reduce erosion and washouts
    • Final grade prep before landscaping or hardscape installation
  • Retaining Wall Design and Construction

Retaining walls are critical structural elements that must be properly designed and built to manage soil pressure, drainage, and long-term stability. Poorly constructed walls can fail over time, leading to movement, cracking, or collapse.
We design and build retaining walls with a focus on structural integrity, proper drainage, and site-specific conditions. Each wall is constructed using appropriate materials, reinforcement, and engineering considerations to ensure durability and performance for years to come.

Retaining wall design and construction can include:

    • Site assessment, layout, and evaluation planning
    • Engineered or non-engineered retaining wall systems
    • Concrete, CMU block, or modular retaining wall construction
    • Proper footing excavation, reinforcement, and drainage installation
    • Integration with surrounding landscaping, grades, and structures
    • Drainage systems including granular backfill, filter fabric, and weep solutions
    • Coordination with engineering specifications and inspection requirements
  • Sewer System Excavation & Installation

We excavate and install sewer systems for residential and commercial projects, ensuring lines are placed at the right depth, properly supported, and built to perform reliably long term.

Our team works from approved plans while adapting to real site conditions, maintaining stable trench walls, managing groundwater when required, and preparing bedding materials that support proper pipe alignment and flow.

We also coordinate closely with drainage, foundation, and utility work to make sure everything ties together correctly below grade, a key step in preventing costly issues later.

    Sewer system work can include:

    • Sewer line excavation and installation, including all required piping and connections
    • Excavation for manholes and proper setting to maintain correct slope for sewer mains
    • Bedding preparation and pipe support
    • Tie-ins to existing municipal or private systems
    • Backfilling and compaction to protect pipe integrity
    • Coordination with drainage and other underground utilities
    • Site restoration and cleanup after installation
  • Trenching Services

Trenching requires accuracy and a serious commitment to safety. We perform trenching for utilities and drainage with clean lines, consistent depths, and jobsite practices that protect people and property.

Before trenching begins, we coordinate or confirm utility marking and safe-dig requirements. The national standard for preventing underground utility strikes is contacting 811 before you dig so lines can be marked. For trench safety, OSHA requires protective systems in many cases and competent-person inspections.

    Trenching services can include:

    • Utility trenching (water, sewer, electrical, communications)
    • Drainage trenching (French drains, downspout lines, outlet lines)
    • Footing/perimeter trenches and structural trenches
    • Trench backfill and compaction (when requested or specified)
  • Drainage Solutions

Drainage problems are one of the most common reasons customers call an excavation company - standing water, washouts, wet yards, and water against foundations. We install drainage solutions that manage runoff and protect your investment.

We look at the whole picture: where water comes from, where it should go, and how to control it without creating problems for neighbors or structures. Site prep frequently includes drainage planning because grading and drainage work together.

    Drainage services can include:

    • French drains and perimeter drains
    • Swales, ditches, and surface drainage shaping
    • Downspout drainage lines and discharge routing
    • Erosion control prep (slope stabilization, runoff control shaping)
    • Corrective grading to fix existing drainage issues
  • Driveways & Access Roads

A good driveway or access road isn’t just “spread gravel.” It starts with proper excavation, base preparation, and drainage, so it stays smooth and holds up under traffic and weather.

We build and repair driveways by establishing a stable subgrade, setting grade for drainage, and preparing a strong base layer for gravel or paving.

    Driveway/access services can include:

    • New driveway excavation and base prep
    • Regrading and resurfacing of existing gravel driveways
    • Construction entrances and access lanes for building sites
  • Backfilling & Compaction

Backfilling is where a lot of projects fail when done incorrectly. Poor backfill or insufficient compaction can cause settling, drainage issues, and long-term structural problems.

We backfill in a controlled way using suitable material and proper lift thickness when compaction is required. We can also coordinate with your project requirements if compaction testing is specified.

    Backfilling and compaction can include:

    • Foundation backfill with attention to drainage and waterproofing requirements
    • Trench backfill and restoration
    • Structural fill placement for pads, slabs, and driveways
    • Compaction preparation and coordination for inspection requirements
